Together with
our family and our longstanding employees we are
cultivating - now the 5th Generation - 11 hectares of
vineyards along the Mittelhaardt wine region. Climate, microclimate, soil (site)and grape variety are prerequisites which determine the style and type of wine. The sandy soils of our Ellerstadt vineyards which are easily warmed up by the sun, generate first class red wines. The loam and loess soils of our Gönnheim and Friedelsheim vineyards offer best conditions for elegant and flavourful white wines. |
| The almost
mediteranean climate here at the Mittelhaardt enable us
to cultivate not only grapes but also almonds, sweet
chestnuts, figs, lemonfruits and kiwis. Although, the growing of grape vines - dating back to the Romans dominates the Palatinate landscape. You may visit a lot of excavation sites in our region, below you see the Roman sarcophages of Gönnheim. |
